Happy Thanksgiving friends! I’m the first to skip right over Thanksgiving and plow into the Christmas season. I just can’t wait to listen to Christmas music, put up the tree, bake cookies…all that good stuff. But as much as I love Christmas, I cherish the time around Thanksgiving to slow down, be in the moment, and most importantly, express gratitude for everything I’ve been blessed with. There’s nothing while like spending the entire day (or multiple days) holed up in the house with family, baking and hanging out. Oh, and I can’t forget the main attraction: eating allll the delicious food.
Today and everyday, I am thankful that I get to share this sustainable fashion journey with you. Creating this blog has challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone in the best ways possible. I’m still uncomfortable in front of the camera, second-guessing my style choices, and trying to balance consuming with re-wearing, but I’m thankful for every minute of it.
I’m grateful to have found this community of accepting, open-minded, curious people who want to leave the world better than they found it. A community of people willing to change their habits for the health of the planet, and for those working in the fashion industry.
I’m keeping my outfit sustainable today, as always! The picture in the image above is my Thanksgiving outfit from the H&M Conscious collection and Everlane boss boots. The velvet skirt is made out of recycled polyester with a Tencel lining, available for $60 here. The black turtleneck made with 100% organic cotton, available for only $18 here. Finally, the Everlane boss boots (the greatest boot ever made 🙂 ) are available here for $225.
I’m grateful to have you here with me on Terra Vitae, joining me in “fashioning” responsibly, and following my tips and best sustainable fashion finds. I hope you get to spend today with those who make your heart happy. Now off to bake, cook, and eat way too many sugary snacks….
