Nontoxic Nail Polish: Meet Lauren B.

My last “Is Your Nail Polish Toxic?” post might’ve sounded a biiiit alarmist. The reality is that these neurotoxins, endocrine disruptors, and other unhealthy chemicals are in personal care products that we use everyday. (Sidebar: a personal care product is basically anything we use to, you guessed it, care for ourselves – cotton swabs, deodorant, eye liner, lotion, makeup, toothpaste, etc.) As consumers, we have to be vigilant about the products and especially the brands that we choose.

  • Free of the neurotoxins and endocrine disruptors mentioned in my last post
  • Vegan-friendly
  • Never tested on animals
  • Eco-friendly

Lauren B. polish – which is referred to as “nail couture” – comes in every color you could want, and even features a multitude of nude shades for all types of skin tones. This brand did not sacrifice quality – proof that you can have a great, quality product without the toxic ingredients!

There is even a great backstory: Lauren B. traveled all over the world learning about nail polish formulas from many salons and brands, and decided to perfect her own formula free of dangerous chemicals. The colors are gorgeous, opaque, and easy to apply. They also dry very quickly – faster than Essie or OPI. Each bottle runs about $18, which is about double what you might pay for other brands that contain neurotoxins or endocrine disruptors. I purchased the following Lauren B. colors:

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

I’m also dying to try the Gel-Like Top Coat (currently sold out) and Nude No. 2. I will definitely be using Lauren B. moving forward! Let me know what you think below!
