According to EcoAge, a UK-based brand sustainability consultancy company (you might recognize them from some of Emma Watson’s Instagram posts), “the average U.S. citizen throws away 81 lbs of clothing each year. Only 15% gets donated or recycled. 85% goes into landfill.” These are pretty shocking statistics, especially if you’re someone who donates or recycles your old clothing. (Sidenote: I should do a little test to figure out how many pieces of clothing 81 lbs is!)
I was so alarmed by these statistics that I wanted to be sure to share this quick, easy & free way to donate old or unwanted clothes. Maybe you just did some spring cleaning to your closet or have had a pile of clothes sitting around ready for donation.
Give Back Box makes it so easy that you really have no excuse not to donate ;-). Just follow these simple steps:
- Rummage up a cardboard box from your most recent online purchase
- Go here to download your free shipping label
- Pack your box full of clothing you wish to donate
- Send it on it’s way, free of charge!
P.S. Give Back Box will also recycle the box you use to ship your donation. Happy donating!!
